Product Overview
The Ricoh GR IV HDF is a specialized compact camera engineered for photographers who crave a dreamlike, ethereal aesthetic straight out of the camera. Its defining feature is a built-in Highlight Diffusion Filter, which replaces the standard ND filter to softly blur highlights and render images with a nostalgic, film-like quality at the press of a dedicated button. This creative tool is housed in an even slimmer, magnesium alloy body, making it the ultimate portable companion for street and travel photography.
Beyond its unique filter, the camera delivers exceptional image quality through a new 25.7MP APS-C sensor and GR ENGINE 7 processor, achieving a full stop better low-light performance and faster autofocus. The redesigned 28mm f/2.8 lens offers significantly improved sharpness, while a new 5-axis Shake Reduction system provides up to 6 stops of compensation for rock-steady handheld shooting in challenging light.

Highlights
✓ Built-In HDF diffuses highlights for a softer, blurred effect that renders images with a more dreamlike and nostalgic quality.
✓ HDF can be turned on and off via a single button; the rear Fn button has "HDF" printed near it and is configured to control this filter. The button can be reassigned, and the HDF function can be programmed to other controls if desired.
✓ Aside from the filter itself, the HDF camera also features a unique silver-colored shutter release button that is visually distinct from standard GR III-series cameras.
Compatibility
Top hot shoe supports using optional external flashes, such as the GF-2 External Flash that has a slim design to match the GR IV HDF body and Auto Flash mode for simple, intuitive shooting with accurate auto exposure metering. This flash has a guide number of 9.8' at ISO 100 and has an internal lithium-ion battery that can be recharged via USB-C.
For more efficient charging, the BJ-12 Battery Charger can simultaneously charge two of the DB-120 batteries used by the GR IV HDF.
Remove the GN-3 Ring Cap that surrounds the lens in order to attach the optional GA-3 Lens Adapter. This enables the use of 49mm screw-on filters as well as the GW-4 Wide Conversion Lens to gain an even wider field of view.
